This summer my niece Anne turned 15 years old and my sister and I wanted to celebrate this special time in her life with an unforgettable experience. She is a sweetheart, very caring, smart and a talented pianist. I love her very much. My sister and I talked about having a photo session in Austria while on vacations. This would be her first time in Austria and we wanted to surprise her with something super special for her birthday. We planned the session on Skype, the inspiration for this shoot would be the beautiful city of vienna, a classic series of portraits combined with an casual and fresh style. We planned the outfit having in mind we wanted simplicity but elegance and also the red was important as it is my niece’s favorite color. Keeping it simple I packed some props and the classic red tulle skirt from my studio.
We had the fortune to rent an apartment just blocks away from the Belvedere, an spectacular baroque palace that was home of the Habsburg dynasty. I had the opportunity to visit the palace a couple of times before during my stay in Vienna and always dreamed on having a photo session there .The Belvedere not only has amazingly decorated and well preserved interior rooms holding worldwide recognized art pieces like paintings by Gustav Klimt, it also has a beautiful facade, big gardens and fountains giving many opportunities for stunning portraits.
In Vienna, my niece was happily surprised and very excited about her photo session. We even took few portraits the day before while exploring the location. We decided to have the photo session first time in the morning as soon as the palace open its doors. It was a bit cold that mooring but we had the perfect cloudy sky. My sister assisted me during the photo shoots and I can definitely say we had a blast!. Here some of my favorite images during the photo session. Check also this behind the scenes video !
